Guitar Program

PAL Guitar Program

The PAL Guitar Program is a year round course that involves youth learning, practicing, and playing both acoustic and electric guitars.

The program is the cooperative effort of PAL and Instructor Owen Griffith. Equipment, including guitars, strings, picks, tuners, and instruction books, is provided. The goal of the program is to teach the appreciation and art of music using guitars.

Students meet at the PAL gym where they will work on basic music principles. Based on current skill levels, each student will be assigned to one of three groups: Beginning students will learn to read music and play basic scales; Intermediate students will build on their basic guitar skills; and Advanced students will have the opportunity to learn to play the electric guitar and how to write their own music.

A Jam Camp is scheduled for the summer giving students the opportunity to write their own music, record it, and then perform on a live stage at the end of the program. Stay tuned for more details!

If you are interested in having your child take part in the PAL Guitar Program, please request the Student Membership Application/Waiver. You can then either send it in to Alpharetta PAL or email it to Officer Laurie Nicholson at lnicholson@alpharetta.ga.us

Currently, the class schedule is on Wednesdays from 5:00pm – 8:00pm each week school is in session.
